Kangga Festival 2015 _ Mogpog , Marinduque
Kangga Festival is celebrated annually to coincide with San Isidro Labrador's feast day of May 13 in the town of Mogpog province of Marinduque.Kangga in the local dialect is a sled made of bamboo usually drawn by Carabao (water Buffalo) as a means of transporting the farmers harvests from their homes to the fields or markets.Holy mass is celebrated in the local church in thanksgiving to the Patron,San Isidro Labrador for the annual harvests,followed by the display of various decorated kanggas,loaded with various foods and assortment of farm produce by the local farmers of each barangay which are paraded around the town.Other activities during the festivals include,cultural presentation, Adobohan (local delicacy) yubakan(boiled Saba bananas prepared by using "lusong and halo"),racing competitions just to mention a few.
