Beautiful Marinduque - My Province - the Heart of the Philippines
Marinduque is a heart-shaped island and the smallest province of Region IV, located between the Bondoc Peninsula and Mindoro Islands. It is bounded by Quezon Province on the north, Bondoc Peninsula on the East, Romblon on the south and Mindoro Oriental of the west. Legend says that the original name of the island was 'Malandik'. The Spanish found it hard to pronounce so they called the island Marinduc. Later Marinduc became Marinduque.It is located in the MIMAROPA region in Luzon and its capital is Boac.Marinduquenos are of Tagalog origin,they are hospitable in nature and are very welcoming.Marinduque is very famous for the Moriones Festival which is held annually during the Lenten season.
You can reached the province of Marinduque by air and by sea.It was previously served by Zest Air but recently stopped their operation due to airport modernization .
