Welcome to Bohol
Bohol is the tenth largest island in the Philippines. It is one of the bigger islands in 'the Visayas', the group of islands in the center of the Philippines. Bohol is, together with 72 small islands around the main island, an island province of 4117 square kilometer. Agriculture, together with the tourism, are the two dominating economic sectors of the main island Bohol.
Bohol has three main attractions. These are the tropical forest, the smallest monkey in the world and the 'Chocolate Hills'. For 'sun, sea and beach lovers', there are a lot of possibilities for snorkeling, diving in the unpolluted waters and relaxing on the splendid beaches on some of the surrounding small islands, one of them is the famous Panglao island. **Bohol can be reached by air from Manila to Tagbilaran and by fast speed seacraft from Cebu seaport to Tagbilaran pier. |

The TARSIER
The Philippine Tarsier (Carlito syrichta), known locally as mawmag in Cebuano/Visayas and mamag in Luzon.. It is found in the southeastern part of the archipelago, particularly on the islands of Bohol, Samar, Leyte and Mindanao. The Philippine tarsier measures only about 85 to 160 mm (3.35 to 6.30 in) in height, making it one of the smallest primates. The small size makes it difficult to spot. The mass for males is between 80–160 g (2.8–5.6 oz), usually lighter for females, somewhat heavier than other tarsiers . The average adult is about the size of a human fist.
It's an insect-eating animal, but small lizards are too a wanted meal. With their big eyes they have a very acute night vision which makes them good night hunters. Their big ears can move in the direction of any noise. With their heads
they are capable to make afast switch of 180 degrees, which make their hunting qualities high.

The Chocolate Hills
( Tsokolateng Burol) are a geological formation in the Bohol province of the Philippines. There are at least 1,260 hills but there may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometres (20 sq mi). They are covered in green grass that turns brown (like chocolate) during the dry season, hence the name.
The Chocolate Hills are a famous tourist attraction of Bohol. They are featured in theprovincial flag and seal to symbolize the abundance of natural attractions in the province. They are in the Philippine Tourism Authority's list of tourist destinations in the Philippines and have been declared the country's third National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the Unesco World Heritage List.
