Niyog-yugan Festival_Lucena City Quezon
“The Niyog-yugan festival or the ‘celebration of the tree of life’was derived from the word ‘niyog’
(coconut) and ‘yugyug’ (to move to a beat).”This is a week long celebration which aims to promote the coconut industry in Quezon, celebrated in the month of August wherein all 39 towns and two cities participate. Highlighted in the festival are float parade,street dancing , search for festival queen and activities based on the culture and spiritual tradition in the province by using coconuts.
